Color Monochromatic color schemes can have a unifying effect and are created by varying the value of a single color. Analogous colors are next to each other on the color wheel and create harmony. By selecting two colors on opposite sides of the color wheel, a complementary color scheme is created. A split-complementary scheme is created by selecting a color and two hues on either side of the complement. A triadic color scheme is created by colors that form a equilateral triangle on the color wheel. Tetrads are created using four colors that form the corners of a square on the color wheel.
